Nest: Day 30

Day 30
Doing the dirty.

Postcard ad from 1910, public domain.

Nothing is harder than habithacking laundry, at least for me. I HATE it. That’s all I can say.

I suggest doing a load every day to make the habit stick so you don’t end up watching a full season of Mad Men one day because you’ve got so much to fold. (Oh, but who would do that? If it’s no one you know, then you don’t know me very well.)

Of course, one excuse I have is that I have a thirty-year-old washer and dryer that can take six hours to do a load if I stuff it too full.

If you don’t have  much wash, you could follow this plan every other week (which I often do) or once a month.

Here’s how I work it most of the time, but you come up with whatever works for you and add it to your BOP.

My plan for doing the dirty (laundry, that is..)
Monday
blues (& blacks…darks)
Tuesday towels
Wednesday whites
ThuRsday rags, rugs, the rest (stuff that doesn’t fit into these other categories)
Friday frillies and woolies (hand-washables)
Saturday sheets

Notice the alliteration? Kind of a nice memory crutch, yes?

Morning routine:
Obey your BOP.
Do your do.
Polish your place.
Take five (an 8 minute break every half hour).
Shovel your shitspot.
