Want to live past 70?

I know I’m harping on this in Month 3 of SOS…but I just can’t help it!

The research continues to pour in. The Archives of Internal Medicine did a study of almost 2000 seniors who were exercising. To be considered active for the purposes of this study, you had to be working out about four hours a week or doing really active stuff like jogging or swimming at least twice a week. Listen to this:

Active seniors were

  • 12% less likely to die between 70-78
  • 15% less likely to die between 78-85
  • 17% less likely to die between 85-88

This is in addition to other benefits they found such as being able to live independently. So let’s stay off our rumps.

Whether you’re 17 or 47 or 87…it’s a perfect age to start exercising.
