Nest: Day 8

Day 8
Keep it straight.

Is all this getting too complicated to remember? It’s time to put your routines to paper. You didn’t even know you were doing routines, did you? I’ve been so sneaky.

You can use a spiral notebook or scrap paper, of course,  but a 3 ring binder is ideal because you can change out paper easily. Write your routines as I have them below and then customize to fit your life.

Let’s call this notebook your Brain on Paper (BOP). It will help you run on auto-pilot and thus free your noodle for more creative pursuits. We’ll eventually have sections for Daily Routines, Weekly Routines, and more. And when you follow the Create and SOS (health) Habithacker programs (don’t even try yet), you’ll want to add those items here, too. Of course, you may eventually decide on alternate ways to keep a BOP–in your iphone or on your computer–but that’s for then and this is now.

If you want, get spunky with your BOP by adding images, color coding, whatever. But don’t get all perfectionist on me. Keep it sloppy to keep me happy and allow my self-esteem to remain intact.

Write this down:

Morning routine:
Polish your place.
Do your do.
Take five (an 8 minute break every half hour).
Shovel your shitspot.

Evening routine:
Polish your place.
Decide on duds.

Nest Month 1
What to do so far:

If you missed a day…the reminders below are clickable.

Polish your place twice every day.
Do your do. (We’re finally using those supplies.)
Stash your key.
Take an eight minute break every half hour.
Shovel your shitspot every day.

Decide on duds the night before.

Put your Brain on Paper. BOP.
