Nest: Day 89

Day 89
Your very own sleep shrine.

The final freshen-up task of the month makes a delightful difference in your sleep experience. Strip the bed, wash the linens (including the mattress pad), and remake your bed more carefully than usual. Don’t you love the smell and feel-good snuggle-in power of clean sheets? I love using high thread count silky smooth Egyptian cotton in summer and warm plush flannel sheets for winter. I also like to change my comforter cover from linen to faux suede .

Now, BOP in hand, evaluate the room and think about what changes you might want to make to create the ultimate shrine to rejuvenating sleep. Do you need new sheets? Does the room need rearranging? How about a few plants or some fresh flowers? Do you need a better system for book and magazine storage? Do the drawers of your nightstand and dresser need rearranging? Many of these concerns will be addressed in the coming months when you’re both maintaining and continuing to D-Day your house, but it doesn’t hurt to have a wish-list.
