SOS: Day 20
Day 20
The good & plenty.
Don’t these Good & Plenty candies look awfully medicinal? And the 1950s jingle (printed below) reads downright sinister. But that’s off topic.
Today’s topic is perfectionism. Yes, we covered this already. But you can’t say it too many times.
Good enough is plenty good.
There will be days you eat chocolate cake (I did). There will be days you take a nap instead of taking a walk (yesterday). And while a slip-up might make you want to give up, say instead:
I was good enough. And tomorrow I’ll be better.
If you accidentally find a few Good & Plentys or even PopTarts in your mouth, don’t worry. You have the rest of the day to make up for it, the rest of the week to make it right, the rest of your life to be healthy.
And now, as promised, the lyrics to the Good & Plenty jingle:
Once upon a time there was an engineer
Choo Choo Charlie was his name, we hear.He had an engine and he sure had fun
He used GOOD & PLENTY candy to make his train run.
Charlie says “Love my GOOD & PLENTY!”
Charlie says “Really rings my bell!”Charlie says “Love my GOOD & PLENTY!”
Don’t know any other candy that I love so well!
It sounds like an anthem to candy addiction to me.
