Create: Day 72
Day 72
What’s taboo?

The word "taboo" comes from a Polynesian word. This photo of the Polynesian Easter Island was released into public domain by Aurbina.
I was sitting around with some compatriot creative writers. We were trying to get inspired when someone suggested we write about the one thing that made us most uncomfortable. Or that felt most taboo. Or that frightened us. Or that, if we wrote about it, we would never ever show the piece to another human.
It was so much more interesting than the subject matter we’d been working on before. It opened a stream of thought, produced vivid descriptions, strong emotions.
Try it. Find a subject that feels taboo to you and use it to create a powerful work of art.
